Mastery Options to Enhance Student Learning
PDE Approved Act 45 Course, 30 Hours
The shift to an education system based on student mastery will require collaboration and support from a broad array of stakeholders. The key here is to focus on identifying student competencies that must be mastered to earn credit and provide professional development for educators. According to the National Governor’s Association’s, State Strategies for Awarding Credit to Support Student Learning, by shifting the education system from focusing on inputs such as mastery of academic skills and knowledge, we could realize gains in student achievement.
This course will provide educational leaders with resources to enact systematic change to build flexibility to allow students to earn credits based on demonstrating mastery in the classroom and expanded learning opportunities.
Course Dates: April 1, 2022 - May 13, 2022 (online, asynchronous course)
Cost: $195.00 (includes copy of course text)
