The Carbon Lehigh Intermediate #21 provides 14 hours of classroom school bus driver training to individuals who are interested in the transportation of school children. The ultimate objective of this course is to provide safe and efficient transportation for school children in Pennsylvania.
Pupil Transportation is such an important issue that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration issued a federal safety standard - Standard 17 - of the Highway Safety Act of 1966. To ensure statewide compliance of this safety standard, Pennsylvania has responded with a comprehensive course of instruction sponsored by the Pupil Transportation Section of the Department of Transportation.
