Intensive Behavioral Health Services

  • Intensive Behavioral Health Services for Children and Adolescents (IBHS) provides individualized, therapeutic mental health, or behavioral interventions/services developed and recommended by an Interagency Team and prescribed by a licensed professional.

IBHS services are mental health counseling services which are designed to provide individualized treatment to a child or adolescent. The Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21 provides these services, working in close cooperation with Lehigh and Carbon County Agencies.

Our clients experience psychiatric distress or emotional difficulties. Treatment may include supporting a client in overcoming self‐defeating behavior, learning to interact at their appropriate age level, learning to positively interact with family members, and maximizing their potential. Family, school, and community members are enlisted to move the child in this positive direction. All treatment is done in the child's home, school, or other community settings.
