• Utility Assistance Program

Anyone can fall on hard times. Dollar Energy Fund has helped people from all walks of life: some who needed temporary relief from a bad situation, others who needed help lifting themselves out of poverty and along the path to self-sufficiency. We work with utility companies to design and administer programs to help low-income utility customers. These programs balance the needs of the customer and the utility.

Are you having difficultly affording safe utility service? There are a number of programs that may be available to help. Depending on where you live, how many people are in your household and how much money you make, you may be eligible for assistance. Contact your utility company for additional information on the specific programs they have available.

    Hardship Program

The Dollar Energy Fund’s Hardship Program assists eligible utility customers with their gas, electric and water bills. Eligible customers receive a one-time grant applied directly to their utility bill.

Customer Assistance Programs (CAPs) help make monthly payments more manageable for utility customers. The guidelines of CAPs vary from utility company to utility company, but the goals are the same: to help you keep up with your bills.
