Paraeducators
Paraeducators are employed to assist special education teachers in certain types of classes. In classes where students have severe disabilities there may be two instructional assistants per class, while in moderately handicapped classes there is usually one instructional assistant assigned. At district request, an instructional assistant may be assigned to work one on one with a special needs student.
LCCC Paraprofessional Pathway Program
The Paraprofessional Pathways Program is an innovative collaboration between your school district, Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC), and Point Park University. This program offers a seamless, affordable, and supportive pathway for you to start at LCCC, earning an associate degree, and transferring to Point Park University to earn your bachelor’s degree.
