• About Data Quality Curriculum

    The Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) is working with Intermediate Unit 1 (IU1) to develop and implement a data quality curriculum to increase the quality and timeliness of Local Education Agency (LEA) data submitted to PDE. The Data Quality Certification Program (DQC) is a comprehensive curriculum to assist LEAs with increasing understanding of the data used for educational reporting, decision-making and school/student improvement.

    The DQC includes several tracks;

    LEA Pennsylvania Information Management System (PIMS) Administrators Track is for those who have worked directly with PIMS for a year or more.

    Entry Level PIMS Administrators Track is for those who are new to the PIMS Administrator role.

    LEA Administrators Track is for principals, building administrators, superintendents, or those responsible for signing off on building/district reports, data accountability, funding, and information sharing among staff.

    LEA Data Entry Track is for those managing student data in their local student information system (SIS) or other system.

    Specialty/Elective Modules include PAsecureID, School Performance Profile, and Data Quality Engine.
